who do I look up to?

who do I look up to?

Well, there’re several people in the world that have inspired me. Many living today and, sadly, some that have died. But that doesn’t change who they were as people in this society, in this world. Some people that have inspired me, may have been strangers or the names of these individuals I cannot remember, but their importance in my life has not changed. Here are some of the biggest role models in my life.

My mom and my dad. My parents mean the world to me, they’re my super heroes. My parents are Mexican immigrants and have been working hard since day one, creating the perfect home and environment for me and my siblings. They are my everything and I love them with all my heart. If you’re reading this Mom and Dad, I love you and Thank you.

John Lennon. He was such an amazing activist and artist. He sadly, passed away in 1980. Obviously, I wasn’t born at this time, but from his music and from his kind words, he has stuck with me for the past few years. His song, “Imagine,” brings tears to my eyes, this song is a reminder that we need to stick together and that someday we will all be happy and at peace in this world. His gave us his powerful message through this beautiful song. He sung, “Imagine all the people living life in peace, you. You may say I’m a dreamer. But I’m not the only one. I hope some day you’ll join us. And the world will be as one…” His words were beautiful, and so was his personality. He is a reminder that there is still time and there is still hope.

Rupi Kaur. She is an inspiring poet and author. She writes books of poetry based off of her own real-life experiences that are both tragic and beautiful. The things that she writes about are things that women like myself have deal with on the daily. Inequality, disrespect, neglect, pain, love, healing. She expresses herself through poetry and shares her stories. She is so brave and amazing. I aspire to be as brave as her. She has written two books of poetry, “Milk and Honey,” and “The Sun and Her Flowers.” One of my favorite lines from her first book is, “if the hurt comes, so will the happiness.” I remind myself this, often. There is always a storm before the rainbow. Pain before happiness.

fashion wishlist

fashion wishlist

There ares many things I really want, but have not purchased quite yet because they may be too pricey. Here are a few things I really hope I will buy someday.

The first item I am going to talk about is the Cartier love bracelet, I have wanted this bracelet for the longest time. The price of the bracelet is $6300, that does seem like a ton of money so it might seem crazy to the average person to spend this much money on a bracelet. There is a $130 Tory Burch bracelet that looks almost identical to the Cartier Love bracelet.

The next item I wish I could have is the Gucci Belt with the classic logo. This belt costs around $350, for the thinner style. I think that this simple belt could be paired with anything and it is super cute. This will definitely be on my wishlist.

The next item I really want is the Gucci GG Marmont matelasse leather belt bag in pink. This bag costs around $1100. I have seen people that I know with this belt bag and it is just to die for. I need to have it! Haha. definitely adding that onto my list.

The next item on my list is the Gucci Ophidia GG small shoulder bag that costs around $1390. I love the classic and trendy look of this bag, I have wanted this bag for about two years now and I hope I can get it someday, adding that to my list!

The final thing on my luxury fashion list is the Chloe Faye small shoulder bag in the color grey, this bag costs around $1390. I love the simplicity of the bag and the classic look to it. I have seen tons of bloggers with this bag and they seem to pair this bag with almost everything! I hope I can buy this bag one day!

My everyday makeup

My everyday makeup

Im still in high school and getting up in the morning is already difficult, so when I’m getting ready, I try to be quick and easy to save some time and not be late for class. I don’t usually wear heavy makeup. I usually just slap on some highlight and some mascara and run out the door. In this blog post, I’m going to share with you guys my all time favorite makeup products that I use everyday! I hope you find something you will try out and maybe even love too!

After I have moisturized and finished my skincare regimen, I do my makeup. I try to make my makeup very simple and the last thing I do in the morning.

Depending on how my skin is looking that morning, I decide wether or not I will be applying concealer or powder, I don’t usually tend to use much powder or foundation on my face. Maybe for more special and fancy events I may. If I see any blemishes I would use a small amount of my tarte shape tape contour concealer in the shade light neutral. I have three options when it comes to makeup tools, either my fingers, a beauty blender or a brush. If I use face powder, I choose to use to use tarte Creamy powder foundation in the shade light beige. After I apply concealer I move onto my eyeshadow, which I tend to keep very simple. Then I use my Too Faced Natural Eyes eyeshadow palette and I use the shade, “Heaven” as my base, then I apply either “Silk Teddy” or “Honey Pot” depending on what I am wearing. After my eyeshadow, I move onto my mascara, lately I have been obsessed with Too Faced “Better Than Sex” mascara. With just one coat, my lashes noticeably look longer and thicker. Then I move onto my brows, I use Glossier’s Boy Brow in the shade brown. Now I move onto my cheeks, I like to use Glossier’s “Cloud Paint” in the color “Puff” to add some color to my cheeks. Lastly, I use Benefit’s High Beam Highlighter on my cheekbones to brighten up my face or I use Glossier’s Haloscope in the color “quartz.” Depending on the day, I may wear either a moisturizing lip balm or my Glossier Lip Gloss which I am obsessed with.

I am no makeup pro, and half of the time I have no idea what i’m doing, but these are the products I like to use. Sometimes it doesn’t even seem like I am wearing any makeup. I love the natural look and there are several days that I choose not to wear any makeup at all. It’s nice to give your skin a break and just let your skin glow on it’s own. But a little makeup never hurts. I have been experimenting and trying new products, but these are the products that have really stuck with me. Some have been introduced to me by my sister or I’ve just seen them online. You can purchase most of these items at Sephora or at the brand’s website. I love makeup and it has really helped me explore myself creatively.

Thanks for reading my blog post, I hope you loved it ! Stay tuned for more, I’m trying to post more than once a week! ❤

Gal-entine’s Gift Guide <3

Gal-entine’s Gift Guide <3

Don’t know what to give your bffs this valentine’s day ? Then you’ve come to the right place, in this week’s blog post, I will be giving you guys the perfect gift ideas for your gal friends for this year’s Valentine’s Day. Nothing pricey, just cute simple little things that show how much you appreciate your bffs. The following gift ideas are all under $50!!

For your friends who love to relax, I suggest giving them a Fig candle by Madewell (on sale for $11!!) This candle smells really good. Very nice and sweet, perfect for a cold winter evening. Does this friend love to read? Do they love poetry and romance? I know just the perfect book. Rupi Kaur is a #1 New York Times Bestselling author who writes beautiful and emotional poetry based on self-experiences. She has written two books that I just love, “milk and honey” ($15) and “the sun and her flowers” ($18). You can purchase these books at your local bookstore or at Urban Outfitters.

For your makeup lover friend, I suggest getting them the High Beam Highlighter by Benefit, its super cute and subtle and adds some color to your face for the days that you don’t feel like wearing much makeup (get a mini-size for about $12 at Sephora). Glossier cloud paint blush ($18) and/or Glossier Lipgloss ($14). Glossier’s products have been hit or miss, but I just love their little tubes of creamy blush and super glossy, long-lasting lipgloss. Another great beauty product gift idea is Body Oil by French Girl ($41) a little bit on the pricey side but it feels so luxurious and certainly is luxurious.

Do these ideas not intrigue you enough? That’s fine! Go to Urban Outfitters and buy a few little things, they always have the best and inexpensive little gift sets, they sell makeup, skincare, clothing, accessories, perfumes, vinyls, home decor etc !!! Check out their store or their website!

Do you want to treat yourself this Valentine’s Day? Here are the perfect gifts and sets to buy for yourself. Start off by going shopping, nothing makes (most) girls feel better than going out and buying yourself something nice. Go buy yourself roses and teddy bears. Go a little nuts and buy yourself the first few things you want at the mall or online. If you’re going through a breakup or anything similar, try to get your mind off of it. Invite some friends over and plan some fun bonding activities. Watch the Titanic, Romeo & Juliet, Mean Girls, and/or The Breakfast Club. Spend some time with friends and family and enjoy yourself.

Wanna do something with your friends this Valentine’s Day? Exchange gifts and go out with your friends or have a party. Play some Beyonce music and dance all night long. Go out there and love yourself. Thanks for reading this week’s blog post, stay tuned for more!! ❤

feeling confident

feeling confident

Confidence is something I have always struggled with when growing up, and I still struggle with it. It’s hard not to compare yourself to others, we all admire other people; like celebrities and models. Over time, society has led us to believe that our looks are meant be a competition. And it shouldn’t be something that makes you want to change who you are. I know that it seems like our looks are everything, or it may seem that way sometimes but our looks are simply just the way we look.

I definitely support women and men who choose to wear makeup. Makeup is a very powerful and amazing thing/tool. Adding a little color and shimmer to make ourselves look how we want to, whenever you feel like it. I rarely wear makeup because I don’t see a reason to. Makeup is amazing and I have products that I adore for when I do feel like looking a little fancy or adding some color. It doesn’t affect my confidence anymore, I have never really been good with makeup and it is just something I use to add a little glam for a fancy event.

I was always nervous to wear crop tops or show too much of my legs in shorts. But who cares? As long as you are being appropriate, wear whatever you want. It still makes me slightly uncomfortable to wear leggings out in public because I feel self-conscious but it shouldn’t matter what my legs look like or how much fat I have on my stomach or the shape of my nose or the acne on my skin. All these things that I used to define as my imperfections are now some of my favorite parts of my body. These imperfections are simply things that we make up in our minds when we have nothing else to think about, so go out there and get busy. And stop worrying about your weight, stop worrying about what other people think.

We were all created differently for a reason, if there’s something that you dislike about yourself, learn to love it. Make it your favorite part about yourself. Personally, an insecurity I have had in the past was my weight. Which is super common, especially for women because of how society shows beauty, or what they call beauty. I think natural is beautiful. The more natural a person, the much more beautiful they are.

I realized in the start of this year, I was going to love myself every single day of the year, every year. I ate healthier, found the time to exercise and told myself everyday, “you are beautiful just the way you are.” And it really does work. The more you say it to yourself, the more true it is and you really start to feel it. I really do feel beautiful now.

Confidence shouldn’t be based on how we look, it is all about how we feel on the inside, so if you feel amazing, then you are amazing. We are all  beautiful and unique. We were all meant to look different. You do you, girl. Go out there and change the stereotypes and prove society wrong!! ❤

my skin care routine

my skin care routine

Before I share with you my skin care routine, I would like to let you guys know that i have very annoying skin with regular breakouts and I do not have the clearest skin, But this is some of the things I have used and I have loved!!

For the morning, I rinse my face with a regular Dove bar of soap and just clean my face, to get rid of any oils and unwanted dirt. I do this in the shower. Once I get out of the shower, I begin by using my Neutrogena Rapid Clear Stubborn Acne Cleanser and then I use the Oil-free moisture with sunscreen (spf 35). And sometimes if I feel some pimples coming or notice and red spots on my skin, I would use the Neutrogena On-The-Spot Acne Treatment cream (1-3 times a day). Also, since I do have very sensitive skin I try to wear the least amount of makeup as I can, so I would leave my face bare and just wear a little mascara, lipgloss and some highlight if I feel fancy, haha.

For my night-time skin care routine, I wash my face with the Neutrogena All-in-1 Acne Control daily scrub. Then I would use my Neutrogena Oil-free combination skin moisturizer (without spf).  And again, I would apply the Neutrogena On-The-Spot Acne Treatment cream on any red spots or noticeable pimples.

You can purchase the Neutrogena products I use at stores like Target or Walmart. Very inexpensive, and does the job!

If I’m feeling a little stressed or my skin is really acting up, in the evening I would use the Mario Badescu skin care Glycolic Foaming Cleanser, then I would use the Mario Badescu super collagen mask. I would finish off this routine with spraying on some Mario Badescu Facial spray with Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater. I also sometimes use this spray throughout the day if it is warm out and dry weather, to refreshen my skin. I do not always use these three products, but sometimes if I feel like my skin really needs it then I would use it once a week, depending on how my skin is. You can find these products online on Mario Badescu’s website or in stores like Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters and/or Ulta Beauty (to name a few).

Again, I am no expert at skin, but I know what feels best for my skin!! All of our skin is different, I’m only sharing what products I love and maybe you will too! Thanks for reading this week’s blog post, stay tuned for more!! ❤
